The first project meeting of RESBIOS was held on 23 and 24 January 2020 in Villa Mondragone (Monte Porzio Catone, Italy). The meeting was organised by the University of Rome Tor Vergata that coordinates the project, and representatives of all the project partners attended the meeting.
In its introductory speech Vittorio Colizzi, the Project Coordinator (University of Rome Tor Vergata), stressed the role of Responsible Research and Innovation as a useful tool for the governance of the ongoing processes of changes investing research organisations. The participants were also welcomed by Michele Scardi, Deputy Director of the Dept. of Biology of the University of Rome Tor Vergata. The European Commission was represented by Christopher Niehaus, the project officer of the REA, who participated from Brussels. He provided information about Project Management and Reporting of Horizon 2020 project and on the importance of dissemination activities. Moreover, in the afternoon, also Aleksandra Hebda, representative of EC Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD), intervened with a presentation focused on the policy perspective of Horizon 2020, with particular regards to the importance to promote the institutional change in research organizations towards Open Science.
During the meeting, the different activities foreseen by the project have been presented and discussed and Andrea Declich, researchers of K&I, illustrated the aim, the methodology and the next steps of the co-design activity.
Organizational aspects such as the relations among beginners and expert partners, the composition of the Advisory Board, communication and dissemination strategies and a calendar of the next meetings have been discussed.
