On 4 November 2021, a workshop was held online for sharing operational planning aimed at a broader involvement and at strengthening the capacities of local actors in the management of floods and droughts in 6 sites of the Volta basin. The projects were prepared, with the support of K&I, by the local partners of the VFDM.
The partners and sites selected in each of the 6 Volta countries are the following:

Burkina Faso/site: Badara/Bama; local partner: Partenaire National de l’Eau du Burkina Faso;
Côte d’Ivoire/site: Sangabili/Bondoukou; local partner: ONG La CIBES;
Ghana/site: Kunkua/Bongo; local partner: Organization for Indigenous Initiatives and Sustainability;
Mali/site: Kandé/Baye; local partner: ONG Delta Survie;
Togo/site: Daoudè; local partner: ONG Jeunes Volontaires pour l’Environnement.

Beyond the entities already mentioned, the workshop was attended by some VFDM officials of the Volta Basin Authority (VBA), the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the Global Water Partnership-West Africa (GWP-WA) and the Cima Foundation.
